Overwhelm and Letting Go

Overwhelm and Letting Go

Being unable to let go is keeping you stressed and feeling overwhelmed.

If you’re in the space where everything is on your shoulders and there’s just so much to do that you can’t possibly imagine you’ll ever make it happen because there’s no one around that can or will help you, you need processes.

If you’re feeling like you can’t let anyone else do anything because they just won’t do it as well or “right”, you need processes.

If you’re stressed out because there aren’t enough hours in the day to get done all you need to do, you wake up at 5am and don’t go to sleep until 1 or 2am because you’re thinking of all the things that you need to do but didn’t get done this day…YOU NEED PROCESSES!!!

What Overwhelm Does

Overwhelm is an insidious beast. Once you’re in it, it gets its hooks in you and just won’t let go. You start to move forward a little bit and the voice starts in. Regaling you with all the things that should/could/might be that you end up frozen in disarray not knowing what step to take next.

There are too many directions you could go. If you go one way, you neglect another just as important. But if you don’t then nothing moves. If nothing moves, it’s just another day wasted in spinning and spinning and spinning. Overwhelm takes hold and nothing gets done.

Letting Go is Hard

Letting go of control is a hard thing to do. This is your baby, your business, your LIFE! HOW can you trust it to someone else? How can they ever do the job the way you do it? How can they ever give it the love you do?

The answer is, they can’t. They can’t do it EXACTLY like you. They can’t love it AS MUCH as you. BUT…they CAN do it as well as you. And they CAN be as motivated and inspired as you. You might even find that, in some areas, they will take BETTER care of it than you.

You just have to let them. You have to give them the roadmap. You have to release your baby out into the world and let it start to live its own life. Allow others to love it as much as you. And to do that, you need processes.

Processes help you let go and reduce overwhelm

Processes tell those folks how you want your baby handled. They show your people how to nurture and care for your business with your values and vision.

By allowing the right people to come into your business and giving them the roadmap to taking care of your baby, you will gain freedom from the overwhelm of trying to do everything yourself. The processes will give your team the backbone from which to move and grow your business in ways you might never have dreamed possible when doing it all yourself.
