In this busy life we rarely stop to celebrate all the things we accomplish each and every day. We feel so overwhelmed with all that we need to get done, we forget about all that we did. This makes us feel like we never accomplish anything, because there’s always more to do.
Celebrate Small Wins, Not Just Big Milestones
It seems like the only time we find to stop and celebrate is the BIG moments. The contract is signed, the year has ended, or some other noteworthy event happens. We forget to celebrate all the little things that made up that BIG Win.
But it’s exactly these little things that need to be celebrated along the way to keep excitement and motivation up and moving. When we 10-Second Bootie Wiggle™ after sending an email, when we high-five each other after a great play/action, THESE are the moments that keep spirits up and give us the energy and desire to continue on to finish what we started.
It doesn’t take much to remind ourselves that each little movement forward is a big deal. I’m reminded of a time when I was in the dumps about an event I hosted. I didn’t think it went that well and was going down a negative path.
My daughter reminded me that I had more people sign up and attend than I did at the previous event. She reminded me that, whilst I may not have hit my goals, I got a LOT closer than I did previously…and this is GROWTH! She also made me Bootie Wiggle to cement it in. 💃💃💃

It’s the little steps along the way that get you to the goal line. Yes, there may be some side quests that show up along the way, but even those help to move you forward.

Appreciate yourself and all that you do for you, your family, your work, your world.
When you can give yourself the accolades, the little participation trophies, you won’t need as much outside validation. These are the little dopamine hits you get to give yourself during times that are tough, stressful, emotional, or overwhelming that will help you navigate the obstacles and find your way forward.
Create a Habit to Celebrate Small Wins Daily
I’m curious, what is YOUR go to celebration when something goes right for you? Is it a dance? A song? An unbridled scream of excitement while throwing your fits in the air? Or maybe it’s something quieter… A big breath of fresh air as you sit on the grass and soak in the sun. A cup of tea and a good book. Or perhaps a nice meal by yourself or with a friend.
Whatever your celebration is…DO IT for the little things in life. You are allowed to be proud of even the smallest accomplishments. For they are the stepping stones to the BIG Leaps that outsiders finally see.
Remember the “overnight success” is rarely overnight. There are years of little accomplishments that one day make a BIG SPLASH.
