Celebrate the Small Wins (Bootie Wiggles Encouraged)

If you’re struggling with self-doubt, celebrating achievements can feel uncomfortable. You may not even recognize your wins (and you have more than you think). You probably do the same thing I do when getting a compliment or an ‘atta-boy’…totally deflect it and say “It’s no big deal.”

This keeps you in the mindset of being small, not shining your brightest, and telling yourself that what you do is unimportant or useful. I struggle with this on a daily basis…which is why I am building the habit of celebration.

Build the Habit to Celebrate Small Wins

I’m learning to celebrate all the little things that get done during the day and acknowledge just how much I do. The way I do this is by bringing a little childlike silliness into my life. I sing a little song and dance a little dance. The song goes something like,

🎶 “Ooo, ooo, ooo! I did a little thing! Isn’t that just awesome! I wrote an email and I sent it out! I paid a bill and I didn’t scream and shout! I did the laundry and I did the dishes! Now it’s time to wiggle with the fishes!” 🎶

Everything after the “ooo, ooo, ooo!” is totally made up about the things I may have done during the day…and I don’t even have fishes to wiggle with…but wiggle I will! 🤣 This makes me laugh every time and puts me in a good mood. It’s a small celebration, but it shifts my mindset from one of drudgery (Ugh, gotta get all this stuff done.) to one of WOO-HOO (I got the stuff done)!

Celebrate Small Wins to Boost Confidence

When you start engaging with the power of celebrating yourself, even for the smallest victories, you will start to shift your mindset from self-doubt to self-appreciation. You’ll begin to see all the little victories during the day and feel proud at the end of it. You might even say to yourself, “GUUURLL, you GOT this!” and go to bed with a smile.

When you celebrate yourself, you don’t need the outside recognition (yes, it’s still nice to have, but you don’t need it). You’ll be able to recognize that you DO a good job and what you do DOES matter. Your head will lift, your chest will move forward, and people will start to wonder what you’re doing because, “You look marvelous!”

You might even get asked why you are always so happy and confident. Then you’ll realize that you are accepting compliments, not shying away from them. You’re owning the work you do with a little more pride. You might even begin to speak up with confidence when you used to sit in the corner and hope no one acknowledged you. And it all started with a tiny celebration for some silly little thing you completed.

Celebrating progress, no matter how small, is a powerful way to build confidence and show yourself that you are more than enough. With each acknowledgement (because that’s what a celebration is), you’ll see that you are an amazing person with talents, skills, and experience you never knew you had. You just needed to let it out into the light.

Let Your Celebrations Lead the Way

First it will start with just sitting at your desk and whispering that little song to yourself. Then it will move to singing and dancing in your car. And who knows, it might even show up as you’re shopping in the grocery store. “WHOOP! I got all the stuff on my list! Oh yeah!” (wiggle wiggle) 😊

You don’t need permission to celebrate the incredible things you do each day. Even the smallest act deserves a little moment of joy. That’s why I created the 10-Second Bootie Wiggle™, a lighthearted, easy way to acknowledge your wins and shift into confidence. Download it now and let your next celebration start with a smile, a shimmy, and a little more belief in YOU.
