Reflect on Your Journey of Reconnection

You’ve journeyed a long way so far. It’s time to step back, relax, and look back for a moment. Really look at where you’ve been and what’s really happened in the last few months, year, decade.

Remember where you were, what you wanted to happen, and what showed up during this time frame. Things may not have turned out just like you wanted them to, or maybe they did, or they may have even turned out better than you expected.

  • Take note of all you did and how it makes you feel:

  • Was it a time of giving and no receiving?

  • Was it a time of receiving and no giving?

  • Are you happy with the results?

  • What feelings show up as you look at your accomplishments?

  • Do you feel that these accomplishments align with who you are or want to be?

Why It’s Important to Reflect on Your Journey of Reconnection

This kind of reflection allows you to assess your trajectory, discover if your journey has been in alignment with who you are (or want to be), and make adjustments if needed.

There comes a time in any journey where you have to stop and look around to see if you’re headed down the right path or if you need to find your North Star again. Too many of us get on a path and feel that we have to stay there because …well, because we think we can’t change it.

But here’s the thing…You CAN change your path at any time you wish. If you see yourself wandering in a direction that is away from your BIG Dream, you can turn. There may be a disruption along the way, but that will only be temporary and help to clear out what no longer serves to make way for what does serve to show up.

Taking moments to stop and reflect on who you truly are and where you are going will allow you to keep yourself on track and moving forward towards your BIG Dream.

How to Listen to What Your Body Tells You During Reflection

Go deep within and let your body guide you. If your body is tight, you may want to shift what you’re doing. If your body is jittery, that could be excitement or fear. Lean into it. If it’s fear, is it showing you something that is truly harmful? Or is it disguised excitement showing up as external shame, disappointment, or expectations? Chances are, it’s disguised excitement…which is an indication that you REALLY want that thing but are holding yourself back from it.

This comes about because of external constraints: family, traditions, financials, or perceptions. When you can take a moment to breathe and step forward into this excitement, magical things happen. Things shift and you find yourself on a path to your BIG Dreams with opportunities you never knew existed.

How to Keep Moving Forward After You Reflect on Your Journey of Reconnection

It all comes from taking a moment to reflect. To really assess where you’re going and if it truly aligns with who you are and want to be. As my father always said, “Is what you’re thinking and doing conducive to what you want in your life?” If it’s not, it’s time to switch things up a bit and find your BIG Dream and step onto your right path.
